  3. Candy Sale dates are October 6-10, it is mandatory for each member to participate in at least 2 fundraisers
    1. There are 3 ways you can meet the requirement for fundraising.
    2. Participate in 2 Saturday car washes*Sell 1 box of candy (52 pieces)
    3. Sell 5 fundsaver cards at $5 each
  4. Chapter Project meeting sometime next month
                1. Community Service Project- Mitchell and Matt Libanoff
                2. Public Relations- Bing Ge and Alina Hu
                3. Creative Marketing Project- Stephanie Hall
                4. Entrepreneurship Promotion
                5. Financial Literacy Promotion- Krakower, Olesky and MacDonald
                6. Learn and Earn (fundsaver cards)
                • Open to ideas for a chapter social event
                • We are no longer doing SONAR in Nashville due to a low turnout
                • We are still doing car washes, Andrew and Steve will have information at the next meeting

                1. Dues Collection
                  1. Start Bringing in money Monday September 15th in the morning or lunch to DECA room before September 26th
                  2. Academy of Finance Dues $20.00 (Juniors and Seniors Only!)
                2. Testing and Competition
                  1. New Tests, there are new categories for manuals this year, please continue to attend meetings for more up-to-date information concerning these changes.
                  2. CONTINUE TO BEAT THE SCHOOL OUT WEST
                3. RUSH WEEK
                  1. Today is DECA DIAMOND DAY, Wednesday is dress for California day, Thursday is Career Day (support the firemen and policemen), and Friday is DECA shirt day
                  2. Only people dressed up can win the special prize each day
                4. SONAR: November 9th in Nashville, more information to come (price TBA)
                  1. This is similar to Clearwater
                5. Executive Board Packets due Friday
                  1. We are appointing 20 members onto the Executive Board
                6. Chapter Project Meetings
                7. Candy Sale coming up October 6th
                8. Car Washes to come, let us know if you are interested in participating
                9. If anyone is interested in doing a chapter project with the fun raiser cards tell one of the officers

                Aside from being a member of one of the largest and most successful DECA chapters on the planet, you will benefit from participation in…

                • District, State, and International competitions all around the United States
                • Charitable activities such as wrapping holiday gifts for the Children’s Sexual Assault Treatment Center holiday party and the LoveJen Family Festival for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
                • Fund raisers such as car washes, candy sales, and computerized “matchmaking”
                • Elegant end-of-year banquet
                • Picnics with other DECA chapters
                • DECA day at Marlins, Dolphins, and Heat games

                Cooper City’s DECA chapter is not just a club and it is not just business classes. It is an opportunity to get involved in your school while preparing for a successful future. Is is lifelong friends, business knowledge, and contacts that will carry on with you even after your high school journey comes to an end.
